Mix Challenge Liner Notes
Departure is a tribute to bands and artists that ventured from their traditional genre or were pioneers of a new genre. Sweetheart of the Rodeo is thought to be the first country rock album. My selections were inspired by Sweetheart and chosen to represent genre bender songs and artists–from tex-mex rock and southern gothic to detours into world music and jazz.
